The customer called in regarding a home he recently purchased. He had noticed exterior brick cracks along the front of his house and that the front porch appeared to be pulling away from the home.
Upon the initial inspection, our specialist noticed several signs of foundation failure at the home. On the house's exterior, he noted several significant stair-step cracks in the bricks and that the front porch was pulling away from the home by evidence of a 6” gap between the house and porch.

Our specialist recommended to the homeowner the installation of 22 helical piers on the home's exterior. The installation of Helical Piers will stabilize the foundation and prevent further settlement at the installation site. The Helical Piers work by installing the pier under the current footer of the home and drilling in the piers until they reach weight-bearing soil called strata. Once the pier reaches the strata, they are attached to a bracket bolted to the foundation, which then transfers the weight of the foundation. The home was located in a slope zone off of Green Mountain and required special licensing and permits to complete the job, which we obtained on behalf of the homeowner.
