Problem: Addressing Basement Water Intrusion and Foundation Issues at Highland Baptist Church
Highland Baptist Church contacted our office with significant water problems in their basement. Grant Crowden, our specialist, performed a detailed evaluation, revealing several key areas affected by water intrusion. During his inspection, Grant also found signs of foundation instability, with numerous stair-step cracks and some wall heaving, suggesting stress from soil movement or hydrostatic pressure.
Additionally, we noticed elevated humidity in two parts of the basement, raising concerns about potential mold growth, damage to interior finishes, and overall indoor health. These findings of water intrusion, foundation weakness, and high humidity were crucial for developing an effective remediation plan. Grant’s expertise in pinpointing these problems was instrumental in devising solutions to maintain the church’s structural integrity and ensure a dry, healthy basement.
